Adding Solar to an HVAC/Home Performance Contracting Business: The Critical Questions

Adding Solar to an HVAC/Home Performance Contracting Business: The Critical Questions

Wednesday, November 15, 2017

8:30 AM to 10:00 AM

  • Conference: 2017 HPC California Regional Home Performance Conference & Trade Show
    Business Tool Box

Contractors working in traditional trades have been adding solar to their service mix over the last few years. Solar is a complimentary offering to home improvement trades. In fact, the project management controls established contractors bring to solar often give them a leg up on pure-play solar providers. Integrated contractors with established customer bases can out-compete in acquiring customers, resulting in lower customer acquisition costs and improved margins. Participants will explore what adding solar to their business might mean through an exploration of the Four Key Questions and leave the session with a set of next steps to help them investigate whether adding solar to their business is a good fit for their business goals.

By attending this session, participants will:
    1. Learn the four key questions contractors should answer before adding solar to their offerings

    2. Learn about the options for adding solar to your business - from referral and partnership to joint venture and division of your company
    3. Understand how integrated contractors have successfully, and not successfully, integrated solar into their businesses
    Presenters:
    • Pamela Cargill,
    • Peter Troast,
    Available CEUs:
    BPI, InterNACHI, NARI
