Building Performance Association’s COVID-19 Response

Building Performance Association’s COVID-19 Response

Building Performance Association
Thursday, March 19, 2020

To our members and stakeholders,

The Building Performance Association has been monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic over the last few weeks and our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted by this worldwide emergency. Know that we are here to support you, your business, and our industry.

America’s HVAC, home performance, and insulation contractors are an essential part of America’s infrastructure workforce.  Which is why the Building Performance Association urges state and federal policymakers working to provide financial accommodations during this crisis to include the small business contractor workforce. Small business contractors provide essential services that support America’s critical infrastructure by maintaining a safe and healthy built environment for all our citizens at home and at work.

This is a time for us to carefully consider policies that will support both the health of this country and the future of the building performance industry. We will be working with policymakers as they consider creative and urgent emergency stimulus legislation.

Residential contractors, by their nature, are local and a part of the community. They and their families are suffering, along with their clients, who need to maintain healthy and comfortable homes to keep people safe and well. The Building Performance Association stands in solidarity with our members, our communities, and the country in this national health crisis.

Sincerely,

Steve Skodak, CAE, CFRE
