The New Building Performance Community: BPA Connections
The Building Performance Association is proud to announce our new online platform, BPA Connections. Many months in the making, this new website is the home of BPA members, stakeholders, and industry participants.
Its name says it all: On the BPA Connections site, you will find connections. Connections to resources, to other members and peers, and to the latest news and information. Here you will also be able to engage in important initiatives, take action, and grow your career—all while making the world a better place.
First and foremost, BPA Connections is a place for community. It will be replacing the Building Performance Community, which is a public, blog-based digital community by and for those who work in the home energy performance arena.
BPA Connections will be a similar space; however, it aims to be more focused on discussions rather than blogs. One of the main goals of BPA Connections is to create an online space for the dedicated people of the building performance industry, which includes, but is not limited to, our members.
There are a total of nine communities on BPA Connections right now that focus on different areas. Think of them as discussion centers for a topic. Some of them are available to members-only (Business Topics Q&A, IAQ & Healthy Homes, Policy & Advocacy, Program Administrators, Technical Topics Q&A, Weatherization Professionals), while others are open to everyone (Open Community, Buy, Sell, Trade Equipment, Training & Career Discussion Community).
These communities are for you and your peers. The goal is to provide engaging communities on topics of interest to our industry.
There is both a member and contractor directory on BPA Connections. These allow for member searches if you’re looking to connect with someone you’ve met during a conference in the past, ran across via social media, heard speak during a webinar, etc.
The contractor directory is where the public can find you and your company. As a BPA member, your company is listed in this directory, which allows anyone looking for home performance work to easily find you by searching in their city or state. They can also search for companies by name.
Training & Careers Hub
The Training and Careers Hub connects the industry to curated training curricula, training providers, job postings, and career development. Throughout 2021 and beyond, BPA will continue to develop and expand these resources.
You will also find related job listings on this page.
Building Performance eJournal
The Building Performance eJournal is our member-only online magazine that provides insight into the building performance and weatherization communities. Here you will find relevant, technical content in the form of blogs, trends, and in-depth feature articles.
While working on BPA Connections, we also transitioned our magazine completely online. What originated as Home Energy magazine and then Building Performance Journal—both print publications—is now the eJournal. Moving completely online has allowed us to publish content more frequently, including a daily news blog and more detailed technical articles.
You’ll also be able to read content from our BPA session speakers, as many have taken aspects of their presentations and turned them into full-length articles that breakdown important details in best practices, marketing, and lessons learned in the field.

Official Launch Coming Soon
BPA Connections is currently in its final stages of development and our staff and a small group of members are currently testing its features in what we call a “soft launch.”
As we put the finishing touches on it, we plan to announce its official launch in a few weeks, by February 1. If you’re already a member, you’ll see an email with details soon. And, if not, you can join here. We look forward to connecting our community in this new way—thanks for being a part of it!
