1) What do you enjoy the most about your role at HPC?
I must say I enjoy so many aspects about my role here it is difficult to chose one. I love the interaction and collaboration with the people in the industry! We are all focused on a common goal of accomplishing a common vision to serve this industry. The people I engage with, their goals and commitment to the mission, invigorate me every day to propel that forward.
I enjoy seeing what we as a staff have put so much time, sweat and toil into! Meeting the people and being involved in networking, seeing attendee’s faces and to hearing how happy they are that this is a great conference are what excites me. It is hard to not to appreciate and feel great success from it.
Now on to my most treasured aspect of my work at HPC - my work family! I don’t know where I would be without their help of the people I see, talk with, and enjoy each day. They are true experts at what they do in their roles at HPC and in their lives.
2) What is your proudest accomplishment at HPC?
The change from ACI to HPC has been an immense opportunity. To be a part of that expansion of the organization allowed me the opportunity to watch this great team grow to include our D.C. teammates. My career has grown from Trade Show Management to encompass Strategic Partnerships in the last seven years. I can’t wait to see what the future will bring!
3) What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy so many things. I try to read, listen and involve myself in anything that can make me a better person and a well-rounded individual. I love exploring other cultures the food, wine, and the arts most of all. I am always, and have been, striving to be a musicologist. I play or have played a variety of instruments, the guitar, saxophone, keyboards, violin and a sampler. I am an avid collector of vinyl recordings. My collection is not collecting dust but gets regular spin. I visit record stores in almost every city, antique shops or even stop by an interesting yard sell.
4) Tell us a fun fact about yourself we may not know.
I have a degree and was a certified optician and owner of an eyewear store. After many years of self employment I decided to change gears. This organization resonated with my personal mission and I have never looked back.
